Welcome to our website.

We are Bellyslap, a community drum-ensemble, specialising in drumming from the Middle-Eastern and North-African (MENA). We are based in Melbourne, Australia.

We lurve to provide bellydancers with the opportunity to dance to live drumming, and for the audience to "visualise the rhythms" they are listening to. CD tracks are so passe!

We play a variety of MENA and world percussion instruments, including the darabuka (Egyptian tabla), req, persian daf, tar, bendir, zils, jembe, dun-duns and davul.

Our favourite gigs are at bellydance school concerts, community festivals and charity events. We'd also like to drum for your special occasion, birthday party, wedding, end of year celebration, NYE, etc.

And, we love to teach others to play the drums we play.
